Revolt!

from Revolt! EP by Simon Waldram

/

lyrics

Let's not talk about the weather
There's something darker in the air
First the tension then the bullets
Raining down from over there

A coup d'etat against the people
But they can never, ever win
There's far too many of us
So now they're finished, we'll begin

Protest is when I say "I don't like this"
Resistance makes sure it occurs no more*

Suffering degrades, embitters and enrages**
Flames of anger are burning everywhere
All we need to do is stand together
We can do it if we really care

There's no price anyone can put on freedom
If we don't act we'll get nothing in return
It's only right to destroy what destroys you
Take it now, don't just wait there for your turn

* “Protest is when I say I don't like this. Resistance is when I put an end to what I don't like. Protest is when I say I refuse to go along with this anymore. Resistance is when I make sure everybody else stops going along too.” - Ulrike Marie Meinhof

** "Suffering degrades, embitters and enrages." - Aung San Suu Kyi
